First Week of Classes starts Saturday September 12, 2015Hope everyone is continuing to enjoy this wonderful warm weather and gleaning time with family and friends as we head into fall in a few weeks. This mid-month newsletter is full of very important info that will set you up nicely to be ready for the classes starting on Saturday September 12th, 2015.
Classes are definitely starting to fill up so if you have not registered for fall dance and Kids R Fit 4 It sessions please do so as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. If you have questions please contact us and we will be happy to help you. We will have the office open on Tuesday September 1st from 1-6pm to accept pre-authorized debit agreements or take full payments of fees unless you have not already done so.
Class UniformsPlease make sure your child is dressed in the correct uniform for their class. Consult the Uniform Info Sheet for the requirements and make a trip to Toes and Taps or Ellswear to stock up.
Parent Information NightOn Thursday September 24th from 7-8:30 pm we will be having a parent information evening. This is a mandatory meeting where one parent from each household should attend. We will be sharing changes that you can expect to see at the studio this year along with a time to have your questions answered. Please be sure to get this date on your calendar so you can have an informed year of dance.
Recital Photos and DVDWell it has been a very interesting time producing our DVD and Picture CD’s this year but finally both are complete and are available in the office for pick up. They are located on a shelf outside the Dance On It office and the building will be open Monday – Friday for the next two weeks between 9:30-3:30 pm. Thank you so much for your patience with this project.
Nutcracker AuditionsMark your calendar, as the Alberta Ballet is auditioning students again for their performances of the Nutcracker at the Royal Theatre, Dec. 4-6. The audition will be held on Saturday, September 26 at Dance Victoria. Further details will be coming late August/early September.
Summer ProgramsWe had over 40 wonderful students join us this summer for our summer programs and we had an amazing time! Special thanks to all our regular faculty and guest teachers who made this summer such a big success. We hope you are already looking forward to next summer!
Placement ClassesPlease note that the first 3 weeks of classes in September will be considered placement classes. These are designated for teachers to evaluate students and place them in the appropriate classes, so please be aware that a student’s schedule may change. We have done all we can to place students where we think they will best fit based on their training and skills achieved last year, but we reserve the right to move students to a different class if we determine they will have better success elsewhere.
Adult ClassesThis fall we will be starting a series of adult 6 week sessional classes in addition to our adult tap class that will run for the entire year. The first genre we will be running is a Worship Dance class and based on interest will continue the series with ballet, jazz, contemporary, and hip hop. We will be ironing out the details over the next few days and will send out a memo once we have the class registration up on the website.
