Parent Observation Week – March 9th-14th
This week you will have an opportunity to come and watch your children dance in the classroom setting. Siblings may also come and observe as long as they can sit quietly for the duration of class. For the Lyrical Worship classes we ask that you come for the last 15 minutes of the class only and on Friday March 13th the Level 5 Ballet and Level 2/3 Ballet will not be open for viewing.
Spring Break – March 17th-26thThis will be a break for all classes (except for Kids R Fit 4 It). Please note that there are classes on Monday March 16th, Friday March 27th and Saturday March 28th (we need to have classes this day as makeups for the holiday weekends that classes are cancelled).
Kid’s R Fit 4 It – April 2nd – June 22nd
Our first session of these classes was so successful we are doing a second session and adding a second after school class. The classes teach function movements such as running, jumping lifting and throwing in a fun and encouraging atmosphere. Using games, equipment and each other kids learn how to move their body correctly, get stronger and build confidence. Come and try out a 2:15-3:15 pm class during spring break on March 16, 18, 23 or 25th.

DanceWorks Festival (Mary Winspear):April 15th – 8:00 pm – Level 2 Jazz “Hats Off To Fosse”
April 17th – 6:45 pm – Sophie Beachesne “Nymphe” and Isabel Gillespie “Limerick Lass” solos
Outreach Performance at the Berwick Royal Oak – April 11th at 3-4 pm
Once again we have been invited to bring a group of students to perform at the Berwick Care Facility. Because the facility is so small we are not able to take the entire school to this event to perform. Kinderdance, Preschool, Kid Fusion, 2 Jazz, Level Level 2 Ballet, Level 3 Ballet and Level 5 Ballet Students will be performing. All proceeds from this event will be donated to “Children Arise” which is an organization that helps children at risk all over the world.
Let It Shine! 2015 is our awesome children’s summer dance camp, where students ages 6-11 learn many new skills in all styles of dance from ballet to jazz, tap, hip hop, lyrical worship and more. We also do amazing arts and crafts projects, learn memory verses, have ice cream sundaes and cap the week off with water games and a performance showcase for our friends and family. Let It Shine! is a great opportunity for children of all skill levels to have fun learning how to dance. This camp will run July 13-17, 2015. Register before April 30th for the early bird cost of $210 (regular cost after April 30th is $250)
Mini Creative Dance Camp is for students aged 4-5 and will run for 2 hours each morning July 13-17, 2015. Each day we will dance our way through a different theme, read stories and do crafts. This is a great way to keep your child moving and imagining during the summer! Register before April 30th for the early bird cost of $85 (regular cost after April 30th is $110)
Summer Dance Intensive is our camp for students ages 11 and up (parents of 11 year-olds, please ask your teacher regarding placement in summer camps for your child). This is a two-week program designed to allow our more serious dancers to get back into shape for the fall as well as make major improvements in their technique in an intensive environment. Depending on age and skill level, students will take classes in ballet technique, jazz, contemporary, pointe work, conditioning, musical theatre and more. They will also enjoy some special workshops in topics such as stage makeup and dance history. This program is highly encouraged for all of our advanced students and it will run August 10-21, 2015, culminating in a showcase performance. Register before April 30th for the early bird cost of $500 (regular cost after April 30th is $600)
Thrifty Foods Smile Card Fundraiser – We need everyone’s help in this Great work everyone on using your Thrifty Smile Cards!!! February’s total was $293.88 which was the biggest deposit yet so our grand total earned is $1568.93 we still need to earn $931.07 to reach our goal of $2500 and only have until April 26th 2015 to do that so we will really need to pick up our participation to get to this goal. Please ask Grandparents, Aunts and Uncles or friends to help out even if it is only for one month…….If you need extra cards please contact us and we will make sure one makes it into your hand.
